La Forêt des Vœux | for Strings, Piano & Accordion
A chamber music work about the inner forest where oaths, hopes, wishes, regrets live. It deals with the mental and intellectual state of people at the time of ‘liberation’. Liberation as a concept, as a hope, as a wish and an oath becomes meaningful on various levels: personal, collective, historical and at the same time revives the hope for a better tomorrow. Photographs of people, faces, figures on the border between life and death, between the darkness of war and the light of day, images of two Greek Liberations, from the photographic collection of the "Christos Kalemkeris" Museum, become images of vows, wishes, promises, wishes, fear and redemption. The photographs are edited in a video projection in sync with the concert, combining technology with the magic of music.
