Truth or The Right to Lie?
Art, psychology, philosophy, are often called upon to explain the human need to ‘form’ a digital self, different from the real one. The primordial need to ‘know’ ourselves is replaced today by the need to ‘shape’ a self as one imagines or wishes to be, in a ‘parallel’ digital world, the one we all spend a big part of our everyday life.
Jánnos Eolou deals with the ‘image’ – identity of our ego in the work ‘Narcissus Suite’ since 2008. The work has gone through various revisions to arrive today in its final form for string quintet and piano.
